FINANCIAL LITERACY SERIES

"Financial literacy is not about wealth but about understanding money regardless of the amount.  It's about how you treat it and how you maximize opportunities."

- Mellody Hobson

Our Purpose

Queen City HBCUS Sponsored Financial Literacy Series 2026

Our Financial Literacy Series was created to provide the community with practical knowledge, real-world tools, and meaningful conversations around building stronger financial futures. Financial wellness impacts every stage of life, yet many individuals and families are never given access to clear, relatable information on how to properly manage and grow their finances. This FREE four-part series, taking place monthly from June through September, is designed to bridge that gap by creating an educational space where attendees can learn directly from experienced professionals and knowledgeable speakers in a welcoming environment.

Throughout the series, participants will explore important topics including Budgeting Basics, Smart Money Habits, Taxes, Financial Planning, Homebuying, and Saving. Each session will focus on helping individuals better understand how to manage their money with confidence, create healthy financial routines, prepare for major life decisions, and develop strategies for long-term financial stability. Whether someone is beginning their financial journey, looking to improve their current habits, or preparing for future investments and homeownership, this series aims to provide valuable insights that can be applied in everyday life.

In addition to gaining financial education, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with experts, ask questions, connect with community members, and access resources that can support their personal financial goals. Our mission is to empower individuals and families through education, encourage informed decision-making, and help build a stronger, more financially aware community for generations to come.
